2022 World Cup Results: Mbappe Two Goals, France Beats Denmark

France managed to beat Denmark with a score of 2-1 in the 2022 World Cup match in Doha, Saturday (26/11). Kylian Mbappe became a star with two goals scored in this match.

France was more dominant in possession and creating opportunities since the first half. However, Kasper Schmeichel managed to counter several opportunities that Kylian Mbappe and his friends got in the first round.

Trying to offset the French attack, Denmark decided to field Martin Braithwaite to replace Andreas Cornelius early in the second half.

Les Bleus still dominated the flow of attacks in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Antoine Griezmann had made a dangerous penetration into the heart of the Danish defense. But his shot in the 58th minute still bounced far above the goal.

The deadlock in this match was finally broken in the 61st minute through Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe set up an attack with Theo Hernandez from the middle of the field.

The collaboration of these two players damaged the right side of the Danish defense. Hernandez’s bait was immediately met by Mbappe’s kick which Schmeichel could not catch.

Under pressure, Denmark managed to equalize through Andreas Christensen in the 68th minute. Christensen was able to head the ball in front of goal using a corner kick scheme.

The score was even 1-1. For Denmark, Christensen’s header was their first shot on target against France.

After a draw, the France vs Denmark duel was even more fierce. France included Ibrahima Konate and Kingsley Coman as new enaga. Denmark also fielded Kasper Dolberg.

In the 79th minute, Adrien Rabiot fired an acrobatic shot to welcome Theo Hernandez’s pass. But the ball is still hovering over the goal.

Two minutes later, it was Denmark’s turn to pose a threat through Braithwaite. Braithwaite’s shot hit the outside of the French net.

France finally regained the lead over Denmark in the 86th minute. Mbappe recorded his second goal in the match.

Griezmann’s foresight in sending the ball to the far post was greeted by Mbappe’s slick movement, which immediately struck the ball from close range.

Thus Hugo Lloris and his friends became the first team guaranteed to enter the knockout phase.

Previously, the Netherlands, England and Saudi Arabia had the chance to win tickets to the last 16 ahead of the second matchday match of the 2022 World Cup, but these three countries failed to win three points so they had to undergo a fate-determining match on the third matchday.

France will still have one more match on November 30 against Tunisia at the Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan.
