A slightly different scene tucked into Liverpool’s victory over Southampton this morning. The Liverpool players did not carry out any celebration after Naby Keita managed to score the Reds’ first goal – the nickname Liverpool – in the 36th minute. The condition that triggered more attention from the public was immediately responded by Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
Jurgen Klopp claimed not to know for sure the reasons for the Liverpool players did not make any celebration of Naby Keita’s goal. However, the German passport coach guessed that this condition was created because Liverpool at that time still had not managed to turn things around. Naby Keita’s goal only equalized Liverpool with Southampton who had scored 1-1.
According to him, when Naby Keita scored, a big burden was still borne by Liverpool players. Because, they are eyeing full points in that match. Jurgen Klopp stressed that this condition had nothing to do with Naby Keita’s figure at all. Because, in the dressing room, all players gave a warm hug to Naby Keita as a form of their appreciation for the efforts and hard work of the Ghana passport player.
Jurgen Klopp himself appreciates Naby Keita’s hard work which has helped Liverpool to get full points in that match. The match itself ended in a score of 3-1 to win the Reds. Thanks to this victory, Liverpool also managed to return to the top of the Premier League standings 2018-2019.
“I do not know exactly why (they did not celebrate Naby Keita’s goal). It certainly has nothing to do with Naby (Keita)! The Liverpool players are really happy to see Naby Keita in the dressing room. Naby Keita has a hug,” Jurgen Klopp said, as quoted, Saturday.
“That equalizing goal made the score to 1-1. We want to win so badly so they clearly decide not to celebrate it in joyful manner because there is still work to be done. But, it was a fantastic moment for the first goal for everyone, “he said. It will be interesting to follow whether Liverpool is able to hold the first position in the Premier League table until the end of the season.
