Former Arsenal player Emmanuel Petit has named three areas that the Gunners need to improve to increase their chances of winning the Premier League this season.
Arsenal have failed to win the Premier League title in the last two seasons. The Gunners have always lost to Manchester City in the final weeks.
Arsenal have had a perfect start in the 2024/2025 Premier League. Mikel Arteta’s squad has won two in a row.
Arsenal managed to beat Wolverhampton and Aston Villa. The Gunners are now in third place in the Premier League standings.
In the transfer market, Arsenal have brought in Riccardo Calafiori and Mikel Merino. Even so, the Gunners are still linked with several players before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal already have a strong squad. However, Petit believes that his former team still needs an injection of new players in several positions in order to become Premier League champions.
“Arsenal need to add players to the squad to win the Premier League and Manchester City is still the standard they must achieve. They have added Savinho, who has looked brilliant and are still the team to beat,” Petit told Safest Casino Sites.
“I think this year will be a good year for Arsenal, they have been improving for years and the way they are, the gap between Arsenal and Manchester City is almost nothing.
“Arsenal need a winger, a striker and a midfielder to improve their chances of winning the league.”
Arsenal already have a strong squad. However, Petit has advised the Gunners to recruit a top striker if they are to win trophies this season.
“Arsenal still need another striker. Although Kai Havertz was brilliant against Wolves, he can play with other strikers who also have the potential to score goals,” Petit told Safest Casino Sites.
“He is very happy in the team, his environment helps him a lot and he plays with a lot of friends. However, Arsenal need to win trophies this season, they need to buy a striker to take them there.”
