3 Reasons for Conor McGregor Difficult to Fight at the UFC

Conor McGregor claimed to want to devour many matches at the UFC in 2020. But so far he has only played one match. Here are the reasons behind McGregor’s difficulties appearing at the UFC.

After winning against Cowboy Cerrone in January, McGregor continued to await the next schedule. But the corona pandemic has disrupted a number of UFC agendas and plans this year.

When the wheel of the UFC competition resumed, McGregor had yet to get a chance for the next battle plan, even though Justin Gaethje vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov had already been planned in September.

Here are three reasons McGregor can hardly fight at UFC today:

1. McGregor Has a Great Attraction to Bring the Audience

UFC President Dana White acknowledged that Conor McGregor had great appeal for bringing in millions of dollars through ticket sales. That is why this is one of the obstacles that McGregor’s schedule has not yet released.

Despite wanting to make the UFC an example of ‘New Normal’, Dana White still does not want to lose the potential for large profits through the presence of spectators in a match involving Conor McGregor.

McGregor’s case is certainly different from UFC 249 which is already scheduled. In the case of UFC 249, Dana White wanted to make the event a symbol of resistance to the crisis situation due to the Corona pandemic.

Conor McGregor has requested a UFC battle schedule but to date Dana White has not released or even discussed the possibility of a duel involving Conor McGregor.

2. Justin Gaethje Becomes a Reserve Fighter

Conor McGregor originally planned to meet Justin Gaethje. UFC boss Dana White has described the scenario of McGregor duel winner versus Gaethje having a chance against duel winner Khabib Nurmagomedov against Tony Ferguson.

But in the end Khabib resigned and Gaethje successfully defeated Ferguson. That makes McGregor no longer looked at Gaethje who was previously ready to fight McGregor.

With the chance of a duel against Khabib open, Gaethje certainly preferred to prepare for the duel. As a result, Gaethje no longer glanced at McGregor.

3. McGregor was thrown from the Elite Fighters Group

Conor McGregor is currently being thrown from an elite group of fighters. His name is no longer considered a frightening name and must be faced. Khabib Nurmagomedov said that he was no longer interested in rematching McGregor despite the potential to bring huge profits.

Tony Ferguson had made it clear he was also not interested in fighting McGregor, as well as Gaethje, who had just assumed McGregor had lost influence in the light class.

With current conditions, McGregor might be able to face fighters who had just lost to Tony Ferguson and Dustin Poirier in order to boost his ranking on the list of challengers. When finally he was able to be ranked first, then the fight for the title fight will again be obtained.

But to hold the McGregor fight, UFC boss Dana White claimed to have objected to the reasons as mentioned in the first point.
