The casino industry in Germany is witnessing a good growth and more Germans are visiting casinos on a regular basis now. As per the reports shared by a new YouGuv survey it has been observed that German casinos have been visited by one-thirds of the country’s population. This is something which is remarkable when it comes to German casinos that they have been successful enough to cast their impression on the German population. Now whether it is their fair practice or attractive deals and discounts which are creating this magic but one thing is for sure that the casino industry is looking forward to more.
This recent survey which was commissioned by German casino association Deutscher Spielbankenverband (DSbV), that 33% of respondents had placed some kind of casino bets at least once in their lives. These figures shared by German casino association further elaborates that 39% of men indulge in casino activity as compared to 28% of women and also higher in the former West Germany (24%) than in the now defunct DDR (28%). At the end of 2015, Germany has 66 licensed casinos, which combined offered e550 gaming tables and around 7, 500 slot machines. They generated combined revenue of £556m last year, of which £339m was only through slots play.
As per YouGuy survey which found roulette to be Germany’s most popular casino option, however, slots generate the most revenue in casinos. Almost 63% of the respondent’s admitting to placing a spinning wheel wager, while only half of the respondents enjoyed slots. It is men (53%) who interestingly play slots than women (43%). Men (18%) also play Blackjack more than women (12%) and the same goes for poker where men (8%) women (4%).
This interesting report reveals many facts about Germans gambling style and habit and as per it the most popular form of casino gambling by younger Germans was slotted which were enjoyed by 66% of gamblers who were under 29 years of age beating roulette which is 45%. These stats are in marked contrast to American millennial, which prefers table games to traditional slots play.
As per DSbV CEO Otto Wolferding who said:
“The survey indicated that casino gambling enjoyed high acceptance among younger citizens.”
As per a federal health ministry study in April indicates that younger demographics were more interested in online gambling option rather than visiting the local casino.
