5 Companies to Launch Co-branding Products with Tencent

In the midst of obstacles and challenges to business activities due to physical restrictions that apply in almost all countries in the world, the giant company from China, Tencent, is still engaged in the gaming and esports industry. One of Tencent’s business activities was monitored from the Tencent Global Esports Summit event which was held in Bo’ao, Hainan, some time ago.

At the Tencent Global Esports Summit event. Mars Hou as General Manager of Tencent Esports announced their latest collaboration. Officially on August 24, 2020, Tencent introduced a number of brands such as Razer, Asus, Kappa, SKG, and Tim Hortons.

From the list of names above, of course it sounds familiar to those who are active in the world of gaming and esports. It’s just that until now Tencent has not directly disclosed the value and timeframe of the collaboration that was announced at the event yesterday.

As expected, peripheral brands such as ASUS and Razer will produce co-branding products for Tencent. This time, ASUS will launch an internet router device to support esports activities, which increasingly demand good connectivity. Meanwhile, the SKG brand will produce massage tools tailored to the needs of esports athletes and gamers who often have to sit and bow their heads for a long time.

From the apparel side, Kappa is rumored to be producing jerseys with special standards and materials introduced in their latest products. Do not forget that the Tencent and Kappa logos will be attached to products that are already being exhibited at the same time. In the future, it seems that more technology will be implemented down to the jersey worn by esports athletes.

One of the interesting collaborations in the event yesterday was the joining of the Tim Hortons brand, which is a well-known coffee shop franchise in Canada. This is because, apart from alcoholic drinks and energy drinks, coffee has become a very familiar thing to a wide audience, including gamers and esports athletes. In time, the Tim Hortons cafe will be designed with a strong esports theme and nuance. Hopefully this can be realized in the near future.

It cannot be denied that Tencent’s existence has helped strengthen the position of the Asian region in the world map of the gaming and esports industry. With various measures implemented, Tencent has become one of the drivers in the development of esports in the Asian region and has a global influence.
