The highest caste of the Premier League, the Premier League 2019-2020 season has been completed. On Sunday (7/26/2020), all participants (20 teams) of the Premier League simultaneously played the last game week.
Liverpool came out as champions by collecting 99 points. They are followed by Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea who complete the Champions League slot next season.
Three teams, namely Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich City, were confirmed to be relegated. Two slots have been filled by Leeds United and West Brom. Whilst, one more slot will be contested by Swansea, Brenford, Fulham and Cardiff City.
The world’s most expensive league for the season is over and will resume on 12 September for the 2020-2021 season. Here are five interesting notes from ending the English League 2019-2020:
Sweet Farewell for David Silva
Can not be denied, Manchester City is the most beautiful club for David Silva. Strengthening the club since July 2010, the Spanish midfielder has presented a total of 13 trophies, four of which are Premier League titles. David Silva has packed 434 matches, 77 goals, 140 assists for City in all competitions, and next season, he must ‘change jersey’.
The match against Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium (07/26/2020) was his last party in the Premier League for Man City before deciding on his new club next season. In Silva’s final match in the Premier League, Man City won a landslide victory 5-0. A sweet farewell to him. On the Premier League stage alone, David Silva has packed 309 matches, 214 of which Man City won.
Man City still promising for next season
A landslide victory over Norwich is proof that Man City’s strength is still promising for next season. Moreover, they have just escaped UEFA’s bondage.
On the Premier League stage this season, Man City are also the most flourishing team. Pep Guardiola’s men scored 102 goals. In fact, the Liverpool champion was only 85 goals, or became the second fruitful team.
Jamie Vardy and his record
Leicester City – Jamie Vardy came out as the Premier League’s top scorer 2019-2020. In total, the 33-year-old player has broken his opponents 23 times. At his age, Vardy became the oldest player to win the Premier League Golden Boot in the Premier League era.
Man United, the penalty king
Manchester United is so familiar with the penalty prize in the 2019-2020 Premier League stage. The Red Devils team has been awarded a penalty 14 times and it is the highest number among other clubs this season.
In fact, that record has broken the Crystal Palace record (13) in the 2004-2005 season. The latest, at the last game against Leicester, Man United received a penalty which was then perfectly executed by Bruno Fernandes.
Chelsea ends doubts
At the beginning of the 2019-2020 English League season, 21 BBC reviewers issued predictions which teams will finish in the last four. Only three people (Matthew Upson, Mark Schwarzer, and Ruud Gullit) predict Chelsea can finish in the top four.
From the ban on player transfers, the departure of Eden Hazard, to the coach’s lack of experience makes Chelsea the team that is the least favored to finish in the last four. But in fact, in the hands of Frank Lampard and by relying on young players combined with senior players, Chelsea can do much and finish in fourth position.
