In downtown Vancouver next to the BC Place Stadium, developer Parq Holding’s highly-anticipated Parc Vancouver will open its doors to the public on Friday, September 29, where at 11pm a celebratory roll of the dice will officially mark the occasion, according to the Daily Hive. One of the largest entertainment destinations in Metro Vancouver and a feature attraction in the coming NEFC Waterfront Entertainment District, a 10-acre mixed-use neighbourhood in Northeast False Creek, the $700-million resort is much more than just a replacement for the nearby Edgewater Casino.
In addition to the resort’s nearly 700,000 square feet of floor area, two high-end hotels, which will be managed by Marriott International will include a combined total of 517 rooms, with 329 keys in the JW Marriott, which includes 44 suites, 3 luxury suites and a two-floor villa, Spa by JW, and a state-of-the art fitness studio. And the 188-room The Douglas, which features a full-sized replica of a Douglas fir, a lobby bar and The Parq, a 30,000 square foot one-of-a-kind sixth floor park. Through both hotels, guests will have access to the wide range of amenities at Parq Vancouver, including downtown’s only casino, which will occupy 72,000 square feet of space on the 2nd and 3rd floors. And feature 75 gaming tables located on the main floor and the Salon level, with baccarat, blackjack, craps, roulette, Sic Bo, and poker. And 600 penny to five dollar slot machines, a poker room, and 11 exclusive salons where guests can enjoy a private gaming experience including in-Salon or lounge dining, restrooms, casino cage and full-service VIP hosts.
Other amenities include eight restaurants and lounges which will offer a wide variety of cuisines and more than 60,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including the city’s largest hotel ballroom, the 15,604 square foot Parq Grand Ballroom. Unlike most casinos which are closed off from outside visual distractions, the gaming levels at Parq Vancouver are designed to allow natural light in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Parq Vancouver is also the first LEED gold certified hotel project in Canada. The Parc Vancouver will carry the license of the Edgewater Casino. Visitors can access the resort through either the Smithe Street main entrance or on the second level from BC Place’s Gate G, the secondary entrance.
