Persela Lamongan goalkeeper Choirul Huda has died in hospital on Sunday afternoon, less then half and one hour after collapsing during a league match against Semen Padang FC.
According to the report, he collided with his teammate Ramon Rodriges and Semen Padang striker Marcel Sacramento at high speed and suffered injuries to his lower jaw and ahead.
The 38-year-old goalkeeper was taken by ambulance to the nearby Lamongan Hospital, which was swiftly surrounded by Lamongan supporters desperate for news of player who joined the club since 1999 and was making 500 appearances.
A local doctor from Dr Soegiri Lamongan Hospital claimed that Huda suffered a “traumatic collision” which led to a cardiac arrest.
“Choirul Huda suffered a traumatic collision with a teammate, which led in cardiorespiratory arrest.” Dr Yudistiro Andri Nugroho said.
“By our colleagues at the stadium has done the handling of respiratory liberation with the help of breath. Then have been taken to Soegri hospital.
“In the ambulance he was also treated medically for breathing help, even for his heart treatment until arriving at the accident and emergency department.” He added.
Yudistiro, added the heart and brain pumping helped by the team of doctors lasted for one hour. However, there’s no reflex from the skipper.
“No sign of life was found then we concluded he passed away at 16:45 pm. We had tried harder to restore his body vital function.” Yudistiro said.

In a statement released on the Instagaram, Persela posted the supporters latter presented a candlelit vigil to honour the Persela skipper.
“Thank you for your constant dedication. Thank you for the inspiration you gave to Persela, Lamongan and Indonesia football.” posted Parsela.
Persela manager Aji Santoso on the other hand, has confirmed after the match that Huda had died at the hospital and said his passing had impacted the team hugely.
“All of the players finished the game and went to the hospital, where it was announced that Choirul Huda had died.”Santoso said.
The loss of Choirul Huda has hit us all hard. We did not have time to see a doctor, only to see his body.” he added.
