Beyern Munich have reportedly secured the services of Sandro Wagner from Hoffenheim for a fee 12 million euro in the upcoming transfer window. The Bundesliga champions are keen to double the position of their striker Robert Lewandowski in next year.
Speaking to media, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic told reporters that the club held very good talks with Hoffenheim.
“We met Hoffenheim sports director Alexander Rosen and we held very good talks. Of course, it will also be about the transfer free. We are relaxed, have no pressure, but have time.” Salihamidzic said.
However, the two clubs did not confirm immediately but the announcement of this transfer was expected. “I think it will be announced in the week or the next,” Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsman told to German reporters.
Bayern have proposed their interest, and Wagner also wants a move. The German international played very important role for Hoffenheim in the 18 months, and also thanks to him the club qualified for Europe tournament.
Bayern, leading the Bundesliga standings, thus reaches a wish of Lewandowski. The centre forward position was the only not to be doubled at the club, and Lewandowski had little opportunity to blow, while his team plays on every game, league, DFB, and Champions League.
Wagner is under contract at Hoffenheim, he joined the club from Darmstadt in 2016. He has been in a superb form for the club, he scored five goals and built 3 assists in 13 appearances for Hoffenheim so far. He also saw his career take off late, thanks to a national team call in June.

When asked by reporters Wagner said: “It would be nice if I had a little more rest time. No player can play 90 minutes every three days and the whole season.”
Bayern have been in their superb form so far. They have kept clean sheets in three of their five home games. They are currently on the top of German Bundesliga standings with 41 points after playing 14 games this season.
By signing Wagner in January, Bayern hope to have completed the signing of the player. The 30-year-old striker old must undergo a medical before sealing a return to the club.
