Real Madrid refuse Cristiano Ronaldo’s demand for a wage rise

Cristiano Ronaldo has demanded Real Madrid increase his wage to the same as what Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain players Lionel Messi and Neymar gain this year.

However, Madrid President Florentino Perez is reportedly has refused it and even intends to let him to leave the club tat he end of season.

Neymar signed a €36 million per year at PSG in the summer after completing his €222 million switch from Cam Nou. Messi, meanwhile, signed a €50 million per year at Barcelona.

The Portuguese striker, who has scored just four goals in 14 La Liga appearances this 2017/18 season, he has been linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu in recent years.

There is a bigger transfer rumour making around the Los Blancos. Perez is expected to recruit Tottenham Hotspur player Hary Kane, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in this year.

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, meanwhile, told to reporters that he cannot to imagine if his great striker leaves Spain. He believes fans love him at this time.

“I’m not worried. We know that people can talk and debate outside of the club, but we think Cristiano must just think about playing, as he has always done. And I just want to talk about this, what he can bring to the team, that’s all.” Zidane said.

“I cannot imagine Cristiano leaving the club. This is he club, where he should be. Everyone loves him here. I don’t want to talk about his contract.

“What I am most interested in is matters on the pitch. That is what I talk to Cristiano about. Everything else manages himself, it is not my business.” Zidane added.

The 45-year-old manager is now under pressure due to Madrid current position at La Liga table standings after playing 18 matches so far. They are currently at fourth with 32 points, it would see them fall a huge 21 points behind the table leader Barcelona.

“I am not thinking about that. I want to concentrate to the team, I go day by day and will not change. It’s a difficult phase for me to have the future they designed for me, and I’ll try to bring good results on the ground.” Zidane said.
