Speaking to media about PSG and Madrid battle in the last 16 of Champions League, Di Maria still remember to the day he and PSG met Barcelona last season.
“We are aware that we are stronger than we were last year. We have big ambitions and we can realise them. But also, we know that to win the Champions League, you need more than just talent and you need a big of luck.” Maria said.
“Without those two conditions, it is very difficult to win the competition. I remember when we won in 2014, when I was at Real Madrid.
“The game was almost over and we drew in the last second to put the game in our favour. You need a little bit of luck to win these types of games.” Maria added.
Di Maria signed a five-year contract for 25 million euros with Madrid in 2010. He played a major role in the club’s 2011/12 La Liga victory.

Madrid has been in a poor form in recent months but Di Maria believes that the Los Blancos, who are in fourth place in La Liga table standings will bounce back.
“Real Madrid are a great team, and they are always looking for the Champions League. It’s completely different competition than the league.” Di Maria said.
“When your hear the Champions League anthem, players transform and give their everything. This applies to us too.
“If Madrid are not going well in the league, they will give everything to beat us, in front of their fans. It will not be an easy match.” Di Maria added.
When asked about his team-mate Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, Di Maria gave his opinion and believes he knows once and for all who is the better player at the moment.
“Neymar and Ronaldo are very similar. They are quick, they are very strong at one-on-one. They play fast and they put a lot of intensity into the games.” Di Maria said.
“Neymar is smaller, and that’s what his advantage can be. But between them, they are capable of tipping the games.” he added.
