Kell Brook says he can beat Errol Spence in a rematch

Kell Brook expected a rematch with IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. in this year. And he is confident he can beat Spence easiest.

After suffering a fractured orbital bone, the Brit boxer was stopped by Spence in eleventh round, in May last year, at Sheffield Arena.

Brook (37-2-0, 26 KOs) made his middleweight debut on March 3, when he floored Belarusian Sergey Rabchenko in two rounds in front of his fans at Sheffield Arena. His first middleweight fight lasts less than five minutes.

“Errol Spence, after I won on Saturday, got straight on Twitter and he was mentioning me. He should be in his own train lane,” Brook said.

“But he deviated from his path, because he knows I was getting the better of him, I was beating him! My energy was not very high, my eye was not in good shape, but now I’m the Terminator, it can not hurt me and I have a whole reservoir of energy. My tank is full now!” Brook added.

Spence, on the other hand, following his win over Lamont Peterson, he expressed his ambition to make his next fight at home in Dallas, Texas, USA, in June 16.

The American boxer (23-0, 20 KOs) currently doesn’t have an opponent set yet, but he demand unified welterweight world champion Keith Thurman fight him in this year. IBF, meanwhile, wants him to fight the mandatory challenger Mexico’s Carlos Ocampo.

“He can leave his world title, without losing it, and come up to 154lbs or a catchweight. I will beat Errol Spence Jr.” Brook said.

“At this new weight, I will destroy him. He should be looking forward but he’s looking behind because he’s not happy with how he got the world title.

“I was beating him, and then I couldn’t see. The new weight is a big difference. In the summertime, I will fight him at Bramall Lane. Let’s do it again. It will be revenge, it won’t be a repeat.” Brook added.

Top promoter Eddie Hearn also backed Brook’s switch to middleweight. He told that he’s very happy to see the 31-year-old boxer backed in camp and moving up for a fresh start at middleweight division.
