Jorge Lorenzo failed to finish his first round race in GP Qatar this season. It was not the season opener that the Spaniard had purposed of and the recriminations stem from multiple seasons.
Former Movistar Yamaha had been splitting with a brake problem throughout the GP of Qatar, and finally forcing him out on Lap 13.
But Ducati sporting director Paolo Ciabatti on Friday reacted on his rider. He believes Lorenzo has a perfect bike and could finish at sixth place without the technical problem.
“The Ducati is the Ducati the perfect bike does not exist. You can change some characteristics but not change it.”Ciabatti told media.
“We will work on certain aspects then it is up to the rider to exploit his forces and to manage those which do not meet his expectations. It is certainly not the sign of a perfect osmosis between the rider, the motorcycle and his direction.
“Despite a difficult weekend and a bad start, he could have finished 6th on the finish line without the technical problem that stopped him. On this subject we are still conducting thorough tests to understand the cause of what happened.” Ciabatti added.
It was not on of the best weekends for Lorenzo. Now he and the team have to understand what exactly happened to prevent the same problem.

“I think he lacks a bit of serenity, but our goal is to put him in a position to prove his worth. It would have been very useful for him to finish the race to better get used to the new bike and gain more confident.” Ciabatti said.
“Our desire is to modify as much as possible the Desmosedici to make it to his taste. That said, every bike has its own character and it cannot be changed.
“We must meet halfway. I think that, whether on our side or that of Jorge, we are ready to find the best possible compromise.” the Italian added.
In next round in GP Argentina, Ciabatti hopes Lorenzo to comeback in a good shape as soon as possible and think this is the best way alongside Ducati.
