Arsenal have been charged by the English Football Association (FA) for failing to control their players following a 3-1 defeat to Leicester City on Wednesday at King Power Stadium.
The Gunners players were left incensed after referee Graham Scott gave home team a 75th-minute spot-kick for a foul by Henrikh Mkhirtayan on Demarai Gray during the game.
In the early game, Arsenal centre-back Konstantino Mavropans was sent off 15 minutes into the game with the home team already 1-0 up. In the next match, the 20-year-old Greek will be suspended for Sunday’s match against Hudersfield Town.
But the London club put it in an admirable performance to get back into the game despite the disadvantage and made it 1-1 draw before awarded a penalty.
“Arsenal have been charged with failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.” an FA statement.
“The incident occurred in the 75th minute of Wednesday’s match against Leicester City. Arsenal have until 6pm on Wednesday 16 May to respond to the charge.” they added.
Jamie Vardy tucked home the spot-kick to put Leicester 2-1 up on the night, before his team-mate Riyad Mahrez wrapped up the three points with a solo effort to make it 3-1 in front of the Foxes supporters.

On the other hand, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reacted to the FA after his second-to-last game in charge of the Gunners, and labeled the referee ‘imaginative’.
“It’s a creative, imaginative aspect from the referee. We watched it again, it’s a nice dive but it’s not a penalty. I disagree with the red card because Rob Holding would have caught this ball and (Konstantinos) Mavropanos was not the last man.” Wenger said.
“It’s a frustration, I believe we played a great game, with 10 VS 11 we showed quality, spirit and overall it’s very sad. A decision went against us and we are upset because we lost a game we shouldn’t have lost. It’s a fact we had to face.” Wenger added.
Wenger, meanwhile, will leave Arsenal ahead of final game at Hudersfield on Sunday. The Frenchman has made quite the impression on English Premier League since arriving from Japan in 1996. He won three Premier League titles, and seven FA Cups.
