Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard lead Belgium to win over Tunisia

Belgium won 5-2 over Tunisia in Group G 2018 World Cup at Spartak Stadium on Saturday (23/6/2018). Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard became the stars of the Belgian national team victory. They each pack two goals against Tunisia. Another Belgian goal scored by Michy Batshuayi. The two goals of Tunisia national team packed by Dylan Bronn and Wahbi Khazri.

With this victory, Belgium has a tremendous opportunity to be able to continue into the Round of 16. They certainly qualified if Panama did not win over England, Sunday (24/06/2018).

While Tunisia is certainly eliminated in this group phase because they has not earned any points at all, unless Panama makes a miracle by beating England. They lost twice from England and Belgium.

Belgium took two goals through Eden Hazard’s penalty in the 6th minute and Romelu Lukaku’s kicked in the 16th minute. Belgian penalty was a 13th penalty throughout the 2018 World Cup event.

Just 109 seconds later from Lukaku’s goal, Tunisia thinned things out. Defender Dylan Bronn unleashed a kick that could not be anticipated by Thibaut Courtois so change the score to 2-1. In extra first half, Romelu Lukaku scored again. Belgium closed the first half with a 3-1 advantage.

Throughout the first half, Belgium is more dominant in terms of opportunity creation. They had 10 scoring chances with six shots among them on target. Tunisia, although in terms of mastery of ball possession (44 percent), only had two shots on target from five chances created in the first half.

In the second half, Belgium again added advantage through Hazard (51′) who managed to win in one-on-one when dealing with goalkeeper Farouk Ben Mustapha. Belgian substitute, Michy Batshuayi, who has repeatedly got a golden opportunity finally managed to score goals in the late game by utilizing feedback from Toby Alderweireld.

One minute later, Tunisia managed to scored a consolation goal through Wahbi Khazri. The match ended with a 5-2 score for Belgian superior over Tunisia.

Group G group phase still leaves one match. Belgium will meet England on Friday (28/6). On the same day, Tunisia will end the group stage with Panama. On Monday (24/6), England will first compete with panama.
