Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina set for key talks with Fenerbahce

David Ospina is reportedly set for talks over his feature with Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, who has flown to London on Saturday morning.

According to reports, his agent is still negotiating with the Fenerbahce president and the player could leave to Turkey this summer.

The Arsenal goalkeeper’s contract has a year left, and the Columbian has stated that he will consider his option in the feature, although he does not directly admit that he wants to leave before 2018/19 season.

“I am open to everything. Today I give everything for Arsenal, I like to be successful here, but you start to complete every alternative depending on each situation.” Ospina told three months ago.

“I still have a contract, bus as I say, I always like to have more opportunities, to have more continuity in the squad as every goalkeeper needs.

“Today, I am sharing my position with an excellent goalkeeper in Petr, but he knows that I like to play and I know he likes to keep playing, we have this competition between us, I just like to have continuity, I will think about the future at another moment.” Ospina added.

Ospina is a perfectly competent goalkeeper who is useful as number two. It would be far more beneficial for Arsenal new manager Una Emery to invest in a younger, prospective individual who can both support Petr Cech as number one.

The-29-year-old has also been linked with the Italian Serie A giant Juventus and Mexican club Tigers. But so far Fenerbahce is showing a strong interest.

The Gunners have agreed a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen Bernd Leno for an initial £19.2m this weekend. The German goalkeeper has made more than 230 appearances for his old club.

Leno made his made his Germany debut in 2016. He has won six games for Germany but the 26-year-old was not included in their World Cup squad in Russia.

“I am happy and proud to play for this club Arsenal in the future. I’ll do my best and I’m looking forward to the start of the new season as a Gunner.” Leno said.

“I already know Musti and Mesut Ozil from the national team, plus Xhaka, Aubameyang and Mkhirtayan from the Bundesliga.” Leno added.
