MotoGP Netherlands 2018 – Jorge Lorenzo Determined to end bad record at Assen Circuit

Ducati rider Jorge Lorenzo is determined to end poor results at Assen Circuit, Netherlands. Jorge Lorenzo is currently in good momentum after winning the last two races, Italian MotoGP and MotoGP Spain.

The eighth MotoGP 2018 series will be held at Assen Circuit, Netherlands, 29 June – 1 July 2018. This circuit is one of the circuits that several times bring unsatisfactory results to Jorge Lorenzo.

Jorge Lorenzo admits that he does not have the flashy stats during the race at Assen.

“We are fortunate to have warm weather this weekend, driving in the sun is always better, but unfortunately, in the last five or six years, I have not always achieved good results,” Jorge Lorenzo said.

Since debuting in the MotoGP class in 2008, Jorge Lorenzo just three times on the podium at Assen Circuit. While the last victory of Jorge Lorenzo in Assen occurred in 2010. But mirrored the results of last year, the Spanish rider was confident that the Desmosedici GP18 can appear strong in Assen.

“I saw the race last year on Wednesay and realized that some Ducati motorcycles work really well,” Lorenzo said.

“Danilo Petrucci is fighting for victory to the end, which means that our bikes can compete here,” he continued.

In last year’s edition, Ducati sent one of their representatives onto the podium after Danilo Petrucci became runner-up.

As for Lorenzo, who underwent his first season with Ducati, only finish in the order to-15 after the start of the 21st position. It was the second time in a row Lorenzo failed to achieve the podium results in Assen Circuit since 2016.

This afternoon, Saturday (30/06/2018), the MotoGP riders will undergo free practice session (FP) 3, FP4, and qualification.

In the first practice, Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez became the fastest rider, followed by Maverickk Vinales. While on FP2, Vinales became the fastest, and Marques was ranked eight. While Jorge Lorenzo is in seventh position.
