Record-breaking attendance was one hallmark of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia 2018 that wound up on May 17, 2018, at the Venetian Macao. The footfall of local and international trades people was up more than 17% on the year with 16,358 visitors. More than 220 exhibitors filled the 33,000 square meter (355,209 sq ft) Expo floor during the three-day event – the 12th Edition so far of the must-attend industry event. The trade show is presented annually by the American Gaming Association (AGA) and organized by Reed Exhibitions. Josephine Lee is the Chief Operating Officer of Reed Exhibitions for Greater China.
Lee had the following to say after the conference center at the world’s largest casino was cleared for the next event: “We’re proud to have concluded our largest, most exciting and successful expo to date! G2E Asia truly gets bigger and better each year. We never rest on our laurels and always recognize the need for growth and improvement. Our dedicated teams, both on and off the show floor, work hard throughout the year to ensure the event’s continued growth. Of course, G2E Asia also depends on the collaboration of our partners and participants. Our loyal exhibitors and thousands of visitors complete the show’s formula for success. We’d like to thank them for their contributions and their dedication to the industry, and to G2E Asia! Here’s to even more success in 2019!” World Casino News has been an official media partner of the ufi-approved event for several years. In a press handout today, a G2E Asia spokesperson stated that non-gaming assets in the Macau Special Administrative District (SAR) are increasingly elevating the status of the region internationally. The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) industry provides a stable platform for economic stability and growth. Event organizers, along with the Macau Convention & Exhibition Association invited and hosted several members of the Legislative Council of Macao on the inaugural Macau SAR Legislators Tour. The purpose of the tour was to help foster understanding of the goal to develop Macau into a global leisure and tourism hub with a focus beyond casino gambling.
G2E Asia Privileges members were given an exclusive tour of three integrated casino resorts on the Cotai Strip as well. The half-day Cotai Trek explored the gaming and non-gaming amenities at MGM COTAI, Galaxy Macau and Wynn Palace through a guided VIP tour. Highlights of the trek included a permanent art installation at MGM, the Fortune Diamond show and Wave Pool at Galaxy, as well as the Penthouse Gaming Salon and eclectic Fontana Buffet at Wynn.
Among the invited guests was Michelle Elliott of Les Ambassadeurs Club UK Ltd, and Anton Ivanov, GM at Bulgaria‘s Grand Hotel Varna.
