Jerome Boateng set to join Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain has set its sights on Jerome Boateng. Anxious to leave Bayern Munich, the 29-year-old is getting closer day after day to a transfer to the club of the capital.

Two years after the departure of David Luiz for Chelsea, PSG has still not recruited a fourth central defender to complete its squad

Indeed, Thomas Tuchel, who wants to test the 3-5-2 at the France champion, absolutely wants to recruit in this sector with a profile all found centre-back Boateng.

While he seemed to have moved away in recent days, the Bayern Munich player is finally closer than ever to Paris. According to Sky Sports, both clubs are in advanced negotiations and an agreement could even intervene by the end of the week.

PSG has proposed 50 million euros for Boateng. This is a much lower amount than the 80 million euros claimed by the Roten, who set the bar to raise the stakes but obviously enough to start discussions.

For his part, the principal concerned has already made his choice. Indeed, the specialised media Paris United confirms that Tuchel met the Bavarian before the World Cup in Russia.

The Berliner also took advantage of the competition in Russia to be supported by Kevin Trapp and Julian Draxler on this choice to pursue his career in France. So, the arrival of Boateng on the side of the Parc des Princes is in excellent shape.

Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, meanwhile, has told reporters in Germany that Boateng’s agent is still in discussions with PSG to find the basis of a transfer.

“At the moment there is no direct contact between the clubs. But there is contact between his agents and PSG.” Rummenigge said.

“We have to wait, if we could find a basis for a transfer. Now we have to wait and see whether, at the end of the day, we find a basis on which we can agree on a transfer. We have to find a transfer fee that would be acceptable for both.” Rummenigge added.

Boateng joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2011 and has made 258 appearances, winning six Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. He also has 73 caps for Germany and was part of their 2014 World Cup-winning squad.
