Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs), believes that the middleweight champion, Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (38-0-1, 34 KOs), does not stop address the fact that the Mexican failed drug tests, so that he could find an excuse for their upcoming fight.
In their first fight, Alvarez and Golovkin each got the nod from one judge, while the third declared it a 114-114 draw. The result means that both boxers will compete against each other for a rematch for world titles WBC, WBA, and IBO, September 15, at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas.
Alvarez has tested positive for Clenbuterol (a banned substance), undergoing twice the tests, last February. He therefore received a six-month suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), and therefore the rematch had to be postponed for a few months.
Since Alvarez tested positive, Golovkin verbally attacked Alvarez with allegations that he believes the Mexican superstar was already using these drugs to improve performance (PEDs) for a long time.
However, Alvarez has always insisted that he tested positive because he had eaten contaminated meat while training in Mexico on Feb. 17.
In order to erase all doubts about the rematch, both boxers have both engaged in a very strict drug testing program offered by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

Alvarez believes that the current middleweight champion continues to tackle the subject of the PEDs, in order to immediately find an excuse if he is defeated during the rematch on Sept.15.
“Look, I think they can talk or say what they want. I think he has already found an excuse because he knows he will lose on September 15, and he is already trying to explain his defeat.” Alvarez said.
“I didn’t do anything internationally. I didn’t do anything to try to enhance my performance. I would never do anything like that.
“I think they should do research because clenbuterol is not a steroid, it’s not a steroid and it does not help you, it does not help in performance, not in muscle, far from it.
“I think they should do some research before speaking. And I think they’re making a lot of excuses because he knows he’s going to lose on September 15.” Alvarez added.
