Juventus plans to get Manchester United’s Paul Pogba back’

Juventus are preparing to sell four players to fund a move to take Paul Pogba back to Juventus, according to reports. The France international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford amid reports of a turbulent relationship with Jose Mourinho and the Mirror claim Juventus want him back. Pogba left the Italian giants for United back in 2016 but now they want him back to link up with former United man Cristiano Ronaldo, who they just signed for £90million this summer.

The Turin giants are looking to raise around £200m in a bid to finance the deal, according to the report, and will sell Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain, Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara to raise the funds. The report adds they believe the 25-year-old is open to return to Italy after Pogba admitted there was a rift between him and Mourinho last season when he was dropped from the team. Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, reportedly began contacting Europe’s top clubs in January to gauge the level of interest in Pogba and Juventus made it clear then that they would take him back. In other news, United are reportedly set to miss out on Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

The centre back is one player in a long list who have been linked with moves to Old Trafford this summer, but ESPN pundit Brian McBride believes he would choose a move to Paris over United. “Man United, certainly they’re looking for a central defender, you could see them having an interest,” he said. “I just think for Boateng, the possibility of playing in Paris, the setup they have there, I would see him probably going to PSG before Manchester United.”
