UEFA has put in place a new revenue redistribution system in its European competitions this season. The Champions League allows clubs to collect even more money, especially the big clubs, which are also the richest.
More prestigious sporting, the Champions League has also always been a much more lucrative competition than the Europa League. This season, all UEFA Champions League clubs will now share € 1.95 billion, against € 1.32 billion last season. And UEFA has changed the method of revenue redistribution.
For this 2018/19 edition, UEFA has decided to further promote sports performance. A club participating in the group phase of the Champions League is already guaranteed to touch € 15.25 million even before playing any game.
In the Europa League, it’s € 2.92 million. We can already see how huge the gap is between the two competitions financially for the clubs.
In total, the winner of Champions League can win € 82.45 million of bonuses of results with a perfect course (six victories in phase of hens). A huge increase compared to the € 56.2 million of last season. By way of comparison, the club that will be crowned in the Europa League will be able to earn a maximum of € 21.34 million.

Champions League:
- Qualifying phase: € 15.25m (+ € 2.55m) + € 2.7m (€ 1.2m) for every win and € 900,000 (+ € 400,000) for every draw in group stages
- Round of 16: € 9.5m (+ € 3.5m) each for 16 teams
- Quarter-finals: € 10.5m (+ € 4m) each for 8 teams
- Semi-finals: € 12m (+ € 4.5 million) each for 4 teams
- Final: € 15m (+ € 4m)
- Winning bonus: € 4m (+ € 500,000)
Europa League:
- Group stage: € 2.92m (+ € 320,000) + € 570,000 (+ € 210,000) for every win and €190,000 (+ € 70,000) for every draw in group stages
- Group top: € 1m (+ € 400,000) / Second of the group: € 500,000 (+ € 200,000)
- Round of 32: € 500,000 each for 32 teams
- Round of 16: € 1.1m (+ € 350,000) each for 16 teams
- Quarter-finals: € 1.5m (+ € 500,000) each for 8 teams
- Semi-finals: € 2.4m (+ € 800,000)each for 4 teams
- Final: € 4.5m (+ € 1m)
- Winning bonus: € 4m (+ € 1m)
