Conor McGregor on Thursday announced his return to the Octagon against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov on Oct. 6, at T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas, after his defeat to U.S boxer Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring in August 2017.
“I don’t have to fight anymore, I don’t have to be here, I have money for my whole life, but I love fight and war too much,” McGregor said at a meeting press conference in Las Vegas.
“I’m prepared for a war, every training session is a war zone, it’s going to be war for him, I’m going to crush him and walk on him,” McGregor added.
Although his last fight in the Octagon goes back to November 2016, the Irishman (24 fights, 26 wins, 18 KOs) is very confident with this fight
“He is an amateur, he has never beaten anyone, I cannot believe that his record is 26-0, I will beat him in the first round, he has a glass face like all those who come from Dagestan, that’s what my Chechen friend told me. I know he’s scared of me,” said McGregor.
According to both fighters record, this is not the first time that McGregor and Nurmagomedov, will face each other in the UFC lightweight champion since April 2018.
Last April, McGregor had tried to attack the Russian champion on the sidelines of a press conference for one of his fights and injured several passengers, after throwing a cart on a minibus where Nurmagomedov was.
After arrested by New York police and then released, McGregor pleaded guilty in late July to a public disturbance in a Brooklyn court, which saved him from trial and jail.

McGregor, who came on stage with a bottle of whiskey, referred to this incident several times: “Thank goodness the door of the minibus did not open, otherwise he would be dead and I would be in jail,” McGregor said.
Nurmagomedov (26 fights, 26 fights, 6 KOs), meanwhile, has generally remained calm in the face of McGregor’s repeated provocations.
“I was expecting everything he said and did, but I came to blow him up on October 6, it’s going to be a long night for him. After this fight, you will go back to boxing.” Nurmagomedov said.
