Manchester Untied manager Jose Mourinho said he was confused about his squad being held by Wolverhampton at home.
“The result is fair enough. They [Wolverhampton] deserve points, we deserve a penalty for just one point.”
“They started better, more aggressive, and more intensely. I don’t know the cause, but they are more motivated [than the Man United players],” Mourinho was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
The Red Devils failed to maintain a positive trend after the previous two games won in the English Premier League. They are now stuck in fifth place with only 10 points or eight points different from Liverpool at the top of the standings.
“I can’t explain the difference in motivations of the players. I have never felt a difference in motivation. We won in three away games. Then we returned home with great enthusiasm.”
“We tried again, then started again badly. I could say, we were exhausted by the Champions League, bad pitch. The players suffered after playing on the synthetic pitch,” Mourinho said.
Previously, Man United won over the home team Young Boys 3-0 in the 2018/2019 Champions League match at Stade de Suisse Wankdorf on Wednesday (19/9) local time. The game is played on synthetic turf.
