Hazard: Sarri’s Value Has not Been Tested at Chelsea

Chelsea star Eden Hazard thinks Maurizio Sarri has not been fully tested in dealing with the Blues despite successful results at the start of the Premier League this season.  Chelsea and Hazard underwent a slick start to the season. Chelsea recorded five wins and a draw so they are second in the standings, two points clear of Liverpool.

“Of course I enjoyed the start of the season. We keep trying to hold the ball.”

“We continue to create feedback and opportunities. Yesterday we got a bit of a problem (when facing West Ham) but I think the start of this season is good,” Hazard said as quoted by SkySports.

“I like Sarri’s playing style. It’s different from Antonio Conte’s or Jose Mourinho’s before. We have more ball, for me it’s not bad,” he added.

Furthermore, often having a longer ball possession makes Chelsea more dangerous.

“When we have more balls we can be more dangerous,” he said. According to the Belgian national team player, a big differentiator is the entry of two new players who have different characteristics.

“I think the biggest difference is that we bring two new players, Jorginho and Kovacic, and they are very different,” he said.

Hazard also did not forget to praise Sarri’s role as a brand-new architect of the Blues even though he still reminded Sarri that he had not been fully tested.

“He’s a great manager but of course it’s easy to say when you win the game.”

“Let’s see in a bad moment later. However, of course (now) he is a great manager and he has shown that to the world,” Hazard said.

However, he admitted that he really liked the strategy applied by Maurizio Sarri. According to Hazard, the strategy implemented by Sarri is how to win a team. Hazard looks to be an important Chelsea player under Sarri this season. Hazard has scored five goals and two assists in six of Chelsea’s opening matches in the Premier League.

Hazard’s teammate, N’Golo Kante also considered Sarri’s presence to provide a new atmosphere at Chelsea.

“I enjoyed the role under Sarri. This is a new challenge for me. I try to understand the movements and combinations of the players.”

“I think we did it well. We must continue to work and improve quality,” Kante said.

This week, Chelsea’s strength will be tested when within three days they have to face Liverpool two times. First they will travel to Anfield for the League Cup duel and next they will host the Reds at Stamford Bridge in the English Premier League.
