The bout was originally announced just a week ago before being scrapped just three days later and now could be back on
FLOYD MAYWEATHER’S bizarre fight against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa could be back on after all.
RIZIN Fighting Federation announced they are in talks with Mayweather’s team to try and get the New Year’s Eve bout to go ahead.
The fight was originally announced in a press conference a week ago with Mayweather agreeing to take on the unbeaten fighter at the Roppongi Hill Club in Saitama, Japan.
It was unclear if the fight would be under MMA rules in the Octagon or in the ring with boxing regulations.
But just three days later, Mayweather, 41, took to Instagram to announce it was all off, claiming he “never agreed to the bout” in the first place.
That appeared to be the end of the sensational comeback for the 50-0 legendary boxer.
Now, though, RIZIN claim it could still happen.
RIZIN said: “I apologise for the confusion.
“RIZIN Executive Committee Nobuyuki Sakakibara is currently discussing the implementation based on the basic agreement concluded between us and Mayweather player.
“I hope we will have a clear announcement next week.”
Nasukawa, 20, will be desperate to have the fight of his life against one of the greatest boxers of all time.
He currently has a perfect 27 wins from 27 kickboxing fights, 26 coming by knockout.
