Arsenal Beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-2 in the Premier League

Arsenal successfully made Tottenham Hotspur lost 4-2 in the Premier League North London derby at Emirates Stadium on Sunday (2/12). Arsenal took the lead in the 10th minute through Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s penalty. Penalty came from Jan Vertonghen committing a foul in the penalty box.

Aubameyang coldly fulfilled his duties as executor and brought Arsenal 1-0 up. The gunners actually performed well in the first 30 minutes of the match. But then they got punished by two Tottenham replies, all of which were made from the execution of dead ball.

Tottenham equalized in the 30th minute through Eric Dier’s header using Christian Eriksen’s mature pass. Three minutes later, Harry Kane was able to make Tottenham turn 2-1 ahead through penalty execution.

Penalty was given to Tottenham because referee Mike Dean considered Son Heung-min to be violated even though the decision reaped strong protests from Arsenal players.

Left behind 1-2 in the first round, Arsenal immediately tried hard to press Tottenham since the second round began. Alexandre Lacazette and Aaron Ramsey were included to add power to Unai Emery’s squad. Arsenal’s efforts paid off in the 56th minute. Aubameyang scored his second goal in this match and made it 2-2.

The process of this goal is fairly beautiful because it only comes from the cooperation of three players. A pass from Hector Bellerin was intercept out by Aaron Ramsey who passed the ball towards Aubameyang. Although still outside the penalty box, Aubameyang decided to open shot. The ball slid to the left corner and made Lloris stunned.

After the position 2-2, Arsenal had the opportunity to excel in the 60th minute. But the two successive opportunities that Shkodran Mustafi got in front of the goal and a kick from Lucas Torreira’s from outside penalty box did not work.

In the 68th minute, Son Heung-min returned a threat from a long-range shot. But Bernd Leno can block the South Korean player’s kick.

In the 75th minute, Arsenal were finally able to turn superior. Ramsey again had a big contribution behind this goal. He won the race for the ball in the middle of the field and immediately sent the ball to Lacazette.

In front of the penalty box, Lacazette fired a shot. Although doing a kick while falling, but the ball that hit Dier made the ball rolled into the right corner without being able to be reached by Hugo Lloris.

Two minutes later, Arsenal increased the advantage to 4-2. Aubameyang, who chose a bit down, picked up the ball to see Torreira move in the penalty box. Aubameyang released a pass which made Torreira face directly with Lloris. Torreira then released a thrilling cross from the Tottenham goal.

In the 85th minute, Jan Vertonghen received a second yellow card for fouled Lacazette. That made it more difficult for Tottenham to move in the rest of the game. The match ended with a score of 4-2 for Arsenal.
