Unemployed, Jose Mourinho Becomes a Host on TV

The former Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho, will be the host for his own show on Russian TV channel, RT, previously known as Russia Today. In the event, Mourinho will provide an analysis of Champions League matches in a biweekly soccer program. The program will begin on 7th March 2019.

Mourinho is known to have worked as an expert for RT networks based in Moscow during the 2018 World Cup in Russia. “I will talk about football at RT. What do you think I will do?” he said in a promotional video as quoted by the BBC, Tuesday (11/2/2019). Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December 2018 after about two years managing the club. Until now, he has not yet handled any football club.

“I have a job offer, but I don’t ‘park the bus.’ After the previous stage of my career ended, everyone wondered what I would do next,” Mourinho said in a video ad posted on YouTube. “I want a new challenge. I am used to surprise people,” said the Portuguese man.

The Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, claimed to have refused an offer to train from three clubs since being sacked by Manchester United in December 2018. This was revealed by Jose Mourinho in an interview on beIN Sports. On the same occasion, Mourinho was also asked to respond to Gary Neville’s statement about philosophy when training Man United. According to Neville, Mourinho was fired because he had abandoned Man United’s philosophy. Responding to this, Mourinho considered Neville did not know what really happened at Man United. “Gary Neville doesn’t know what my football philosophy is. My philosophy depends on the club where I work,” Mourinho was quoted from the BBC Sport website on Sunday (01/20/2019). “So far I have rejected three training jobs because I feel inappropriate,” Mourinho said.

Mourinho called the experience of working at Man United the reason for refusing an offer to return to training. In this case, Mourinho highlighted Man United’s organizational structure. For this reason, Mourinho will be very selective in determining the team where he works. “The time when a coach is at the highest point of the club with all his strength I think it’s over now. Now, a club must have a clear structure,” Mourinho said. “If later negotiating with the club, the first thing to talk about is not the target of purchase, not about the budget, but what the club is offering about the structure,” the Portuguese coach added.

Up to today, there is 3 teams that claimed to secure Mourinho’s services. The three teams are Benfica, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. Mourinho has said he is very interested in returning to Inter Milan or Real Madrid.
