Three Indonesian Representatives Hoping to Seize Title in 2019 Barcelona Spain Masters

Women’s singles player non national team Lyanny Alessandra Mainaky managed to appear brilliantly in the second round of the 2019 Barcelona Spain Masters yesterday (Thursday, 21/2/2019). In the tournament that entered the Super 300 level, Lyanny became the only player who managed to escape to the quarter-finals of the three players who dropped in the second round after successfully defeating Chinese Taipei player Lee Chia Hsin with a score of 21-17 21-19 so that it still safeguard Indonesia’s opportunity to win the title.

Meanwhile, the other two players who were the main national players with priority decrees to perform at the Tokyo Olympics failed. Ruselli Hartawan lost to Chinese player Han Yue who was the first seed through a rubber set battle with a score of 23-21 18-21 and 15-21.

Followed by Fitriani, he who is also the main national player with a priority decree to appear at the Tokyo Olympics must recognize the superior superiority of third Cai Yanyan from China. Fitriani lost two straight sets with a score of 14-21 19-21.

Next in the mixed doubles sector, the two main national team pairs who dropped in the second round also made it to the quarter-finals while increasing the chances of winning the title.

Tontowi Ahmad / Winny Oktavina Kandow who was seeded in fifth place managed to conquer pair He Chun Mak / Chau Hoi Wah from Hong Kong through a rubber set battle with a score of 13-21 21-14 and 21-17. Followed by another major national court pair Rinov Rivaldy / Pitha Haningtyas Mentari who won W-O over the pair Nyl Yakura / Kristen Tsai from Canada.

Furthermore, the men’s doubles sector, the only couple that was revealed by Sabar Karyaman Gutama / Frengky Wijaya Putra, failed to follow in the footsteps of his colleagues. Sabar / Frengky must recognize the superiority of Chinese Taipei partner Lu Ching Yao / Yang Po Han who is the fourth seed with a score of 12-21 18-21.

The three remaining Indonesian representatives from the women’s singles sector, and the mixed doubles sector today (Friday, 02/22/2019) will continue their struggle in the quarter-finals.

The women’s singles sector, Lyanny Alessandra Mainaky will face tough opponents second seed Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark.

In the mixed doubles sector, the seeded Tontowi / Winny pair in fifth place will face South Korean couple Choi Solgyu / Kim So Yeong. Furthermore, the Rinov / Pitha pair will face a formidable couple, Seo Jae Seung / Chae Yu Jung, also from South Korea.

Hopefully the Indonesian badminton will be able to continue to advance to the semi-finals as a step towards the championship so as to maintain consistency in collecting titles, such as those already produced in Thailand open 2019, Malaysia Masters 2019, Indonesia Masters 2019 and Iran Fajr International Challenge 2019.
