Paris Saint Germain star striker (PSG) Neymar could not help crying when commenting on Lionel Messi, his former colleague at Barcelona.
Neymar himself is currently undergoing his days in Brazil for the recovery of his metatarsal injury.
The player born in Brazil’s Mogi das Cruzes arrived at PSG with a fantastic transfer of € 222 million from the Blaugrana. That number makes it the most expensive player in the world to date.
Quoted from the US, Neymar did not expect to receive questions from Brazilian television GloboTV in an exclusive interview about Messi.
“To be honest, this is difficult, it is very difficult for me to comment about Messi because it is very special for me while in Barcelona. I say that to everyone,” Neymar was quoted as saying by the AS.
Neymar felt Messi had helped many things and made him have a debt of gratitude to the Argentine player. The Brazilian national team striker has played with La Pulga at Barca for four seasons.
“At that time when I needed great support, the best player in the world came to me and gave his help. He said: ‘Come here, I am here to help you,'” said Neymar mimicking Messi’s remembrance of those times.
The former Santos player collected 105 goals in 186 appearances with Barcelona in all competitions. Thanks to that note, he was ordained to be the third best player after Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neymar was deliberately left Barcelona because he wanted to get out of the shadow of the big name Messi and wanted to be the best in the world. However, his father, Neymar Santos, denied the rumor.
“Neymar left not because he wanted to get out of the shadow of Messi. It was a very complicated situation,” Neymar Santos told Marca.
The challenge in the French Ligue 1 called Neymar Santos made the boy interested in joining PSG.
“We were asked to help provide visibility to the league. If you look at it, it is even greater than just Neymar’s ambitions,” said Neymar Santos.
Meanwhile, Neymar admitted the transfer process from Barcelona to PSG was completed because he wanted to achieve a bigger dream.
The 27-year-old player did not explain his big dream. However, many parties claim that Neymar is eager to be the best in the world including winning the Ballon d’Or trophy.
“I want something bigger, bigger challenges. My heart makes decisions, and makes me follow that ambition, that’s why I am here today. I want bigger dreams, do the best and even better,” said Neymar.
