Solskjaer: “Manchester United has not given up on the fight, everything is possible”

Manchester United’s prospects for the fourth have been very declining. The team still has two games left and wants to counterattack. While guaranteeing the victory, they also expect Chelsea and Arsenal to roll over in front of them. Therefore, United’s big chance missed the Champions League next season.

United head coach Solskjaer insisted that his ream cannot give up and will continue to fight until the end of the season.

“I don’t think we can give up until the theoretical possibility is gone. Of course, I know that the difficulty is very big. We need to focus on the last two games, do our best, win the game.” Solskjaer said.

“And look at the results of other games. At the end of the season, there will be some strange results, so anything can happen. We still want to end the season as high as possible, and see how many scores we will end up in the end.” Solskjaer added.

David de Gea has made three errors leading to goals in his last four games in all competitions for United – as many as in his previous 123 matches combined for the Red Devils.

Solskjaer unequivocally backed De Gea and insisted the faltering goalkeeper is not to blame for Manchester United being in danger of missing out on Champions League qualification.

“He’s been in the spotlight for the right reasons for so long, now he’s going through a period where he probably feels he could have done better. I don’t have any worries about him because he’s a strong character.” Solskjaer said.

United challenge is clear: score as many goals as possible from the two remaining games against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City. But Solskjaer is right to state that anything is possible at his club when their minds are fixed on a target.

“We have got to stick together, batten the hatches down, make sure we don’t do anything rash, anything stupid, and keep working. Stick together as a team, because we have to come back fighting.” Solskjaer said.
