The Razer gaming peripherals company recently announced a partnership with one of the world’s leading esports organizations, Evil Geniuses (EG). Through this collaboration, Razer will provide all high-quality gaming equipment for the needs of the Evil Geniuses training and tournament for the next two years. These include headsets, keyboards, gaming mouse, as well as grade mousemat esports.
This is not the first time Razer and Evil Geniuses are partners. In 2013, Razer also collaborated with them to launch a series of Evil Geniuses themed gaming products. The products in question include the BlackWidow keyboard, the Taipan mouse, and Goliathus mousemat. That’s why Razer said, “Welcome home Evil Geniuses,” when announcing this time cooperation through social media.
“The Razer team is proud to partner with Evil Geniuses at the highest level of esports. We are always inspired by their passion and commitment, and our cooperation will be driven by expertise and the best esports technology, “said David Tse, Razer’s Global Director of Esports, reported by Insider Esports.
Since it was founded in Singapore in 2005, Razer is known to be brave in carrying out innovations in the field of gaming and has a high focus on quality. Now, as one of the largest gaming device manufacturing companies in the world, Razer also strongly supports the global esports ecosystem. Not only Evil Geniuses, Razer also sponsors the Alliance team, Los Angeles Valiant, Gen.G Esports, and others. Razer is also an official esports partner for the 2019 SEA Games.
“This collaboration with the Razer Team provides enormous value,” said Phillip Aram, COO of Evil Geniuses. “The high performance Razer gaming equipment is top-tier and provides new performance benefits to our players. Razer is the perfect brand to enjoy ongoing success together and to compete for a repeat victory at The International. “Evil Geniuses has indeed been a Dota 2 world champion when they won the 2015 International trophy.
The achievements of Evil Geniuses were also fairly good lately, so Razer didn’t have to worry about this team lacking popularity. For example the achievement of 3rd place at the MDL Disneyland Paris Dota 2 Major, 1st place in Call of Duty World League Championship 2018, and 2nd place at MDL Macau 2019. Besides Dota 2 and Call of Duty, Razer currently has a team that competes in many branches esports, including Fortnite, Rocket League, Rainbow Six: Siege, to Street Fighter V.
Will the return of their old partners bring them more confidence in facing the International 2019 and break the double winner’s curse?
