The ONE: Masters of Destiny event will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in mid-July 2019. The event will show various world-class matches. The climax is a rematch to win tickets for the semifinal ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix between Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy and Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan.
Previously, ONE Women’s Atomweight world champion “The Unstoppable” Angela Lee will try her luck in the strawweight division by facing eight-time BJJ world champion Michelle Nicolini.
As part of the Main Card containing the main competitions of this event, mixed martial arts (MMA) Indonesian athletes, Abro “The Black Komodo” Fernandes, will play against Indian athletes, Gurdarshan “Saint Lion” Manat, in the flyweight division.
Moreover, another Indonesian athlete, Adrian “Papua Badboy” Matthean, will also play against Chinese fighter Liu Peng Shuai, where Adrian tries to maintain his winning record. This Papuan fighter claimed to be ready and has high enthusiasm to welcome the strawweight division match at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur.
“This match will be my first match in Malaysia,” Adrian Mattheis quoted.
“Indonesia and Malaysia have long been ‘competing’ about many things. I want to prove that our two nations can also achieve peace through sporting events like this,” said the athlete who won the ONE: For Honor event in Jakarta in early May.
Adrian who joined ONE Championship since 2016 also shared about the preparations he had made. “Our team has prepared mental and physical aspects well,” said Adrian Mattheis.
“I will face an opponent with a wrestler character, so we have also developed various sprawling techniques. Our next game plan includes a stand-up fight strategy. I have also applied more routine exercises which include cross-fit. While endurance training is obtained by adding a run of 10 kilometers every end of the regular training session. The aspects of strength and conditioning are also trained as usual with an additional increase in sprawling and running exercises,” said the athlete who joined the Tigershark Fighting Academy.
He has also observed his opponents, who are champions of the ONE Hefei Flyweight Tournament, through knockouts in two rounds.
“My opponent will be two years younger, so he might benefit from speed and strength,” said Adrian Mattheis.
“However, I am sure that the experience and techniques that I have will lead me to victory in the match later,” Adrian said again.
“Papua Badboy” also does not forget to ask for support from all sports fans and mixed martial arts (MMA) Indonesia in the upcoming match.
“In my opinion, all Indonesian people must watch the match in ONE: Master of Destiny in Kuala Lumpur later so they will know that Indonesia also has many good athletes or fighters,” Adrian Mattheis said.
