Aaron Wan-Bissaka Joins Manchester United on Five-Year Contract

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Aaron Wan-Bisaka from Crystal Palace on a five-year contract, the Premier League club said in a statement on Saturday.

An initial fee of £45 million with an extra £5 million in add-ons has reportedly been agreed between the clubs, making Wan-Bissaka the most expensive defender in United’s history.

“Manchester United is delighted to confirm the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace. Aaron has signed a five-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.” United said in a statement.

Wan-Bissaka made just 42 Premier League appearances for the Palace, but he was an outstanding performer 2018/19 season.

“I am grateful and it is an honour to represent this club. I think I will improve every step and learn different things around new team-mates. I think Man United is a big club, a big family, a big fan base, and I think they all stick together and are so tight together.” Wan-Bissaka said.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling and an honour to call myself a Manchester United player and something I know that only a small number of players have the privilege to say,” Wan-Bissaka added.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has affirmed that Wan-Bissaka will be a part of the Red Devils’ plans next season and will wear the no.29 shirt for the team.

“Ole has reassured me about his plans, what he is going to do with the team. That is something I want to be a part of. It was the gaffer’s decision and his plan to rebuild, and to bring the team back to where it is supposed to be. I wanted to be a part of that plan.” Wan-Bissaka said.

“This club is known for winning trophies and I want to be a part of that, to win my first. I can see that the fan base is huge and they support the team through thick and thin. I am going to give everything for the club and for the fantastic fans and I can’t wait to get started.” he added.
