Inter Milan have agreed to an agreement to borrow striker Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United on Tuesday (8/27/2019). Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte wants to sign Alexis Sanchez before the European transfer window closes on Monday next week.
If Sanchez has been officially moved to Inter, he then will join his former teammate at Man United, Romelu Lukaku. Previously, Lukaku had already left because he became one of the players that coach Antonio Conte wanted so badly.
Nonetheless, Inter Milan have yet to approve the option to buy Sanchez at the end of the loan agreement, as quoted by the BBC.
Previously, Man United Manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, did not mind if the Chilean player moved from Man United this summer. “Alexis (Sanchez) is a quality player, but we don’t have many options,” Solskjaer said.
“If there is a good enough offer for the club and for him, he will leave. But if not, he is still our player and he is a quality player,” said the Norwegian coach. Solskjaer is expected to give more playing time to the teenage striker, Mason Greenwood, who has made three appearances as a substitute so far this season.
The Premier League summer transfer window is already closed, but Premier League clubs can still release players to other leagues.
Regarding Sanchez’s transfer to Inter Milan, the player’s salary issue is still under discussion. At Manchester United, Alexis Sanchez is paid 12 million euros per season. However, that number will be cut by 25% because the Red Devils, nicknamed for Manchester United, did not qualify for the Champions League this season.
That means, Sanchez’s salary after the deduction is still around 9 million euros. However, the Nerazzurri camp is only able to spend a maximum of 5 million euros to pay for the services of the 30-year-old striker in a season. Well, the remaining 4 million euros is what Inter Milan is trying to make Man United willing to jointly pay his wages.
Alexis Sanchez was brought in by Man United from Arsenal in January 2018. However, he had difficulty penetrating the Red Devils main squad. Throughout last season, he only recorded 27 appearances in all competitions, and recorded four goals and three assists.
