Charles Leclerc outstanding performance has impressed five time world champion, Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton was surprised how Leclerc has improved his game to beat Sebatian Vettel.

Leclerc has shown the ability to “outperform” his team mate. While Hamilton consider him very talented and he awaits “a lot more greatness to come” from Ferrari young driver.

The Monégasque enforced his presence and kept Hamilton at bay during Belgian Grand Prix on Sunday. This resulted in his first career victory of a grand prix.

He is enjoying an impressive season this year. He would have fetched victory earlier if his Ferrari had not fallen to an engine problem.

Ferrari had envisioned to secure the talent to themselves. The team took Leclerc on board in his second year in Formula 1. His performance has pressed four time world champion Sebastian Vettel.

Leclerc has out performed his team mate in last six races.

Hamilton commented while answering to a question that what he thinks about the rate of adaptability of Leclerc to the new team. He said: “His results speak for themselves really.

“It’s not easy for any driver to jump into a top team, let alone Ferrari, against a four-time world champion with God knows how much more experience.

“And then to continuously, from race one, outperform, out-qualify and out-drive a four-time world champion is not easy to do.

“That speaks for itself. He’s been really unlucky in quite a few races this year, it could easily have been the third win [on Sunday].

“So, there’s a lot more greatness to come from him and I’m looking forward to seeing his growth and racing alongside him.”

At the start of season, Leclerc was ambitious to turn the tide against Vettel, who was de facto priority for Ferrari. But Leclerc started the season with ambition to change team’s priorities with his performance.

Both drivers stood with six podiums this season, while Vettel is 12 points ahead.

However, Leclerc won the only grand prix for Ferrari this season. Also, he beats his team mate with three to one pole position in 2019.

While Vettel is still struggling to find a single victory so far. He managed to cross the line first in Canada but unfortunately he was handed over five second grid penalty.

Hamilton had fun chasing Leclerc who was a little too quick for him to catch.
