Ernesto Valverde Hopes Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele Will Remain at Barcelona Beyond the End of 2019/20 Season

There have been reports that Barcelona would be willing to sign Neymar from the Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain. According to reports, the Blaugrana have now made third offer. They write that the Brazilian has already given his approval to the club he left just a two-year ago.

PSG reportedly want 222million euro plus two players. They are said it’s to be Ivan Rakitic and Ousmane Dembele on a season-long loan.

“I’m really looking forward to that day coming and we can give everything a rest and we all know the state of everything because this has been going on a long time,” Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde said.

“On the subject of Neymar, I have nothing to say. He’s a player at another team. We respect our rivals and we’ll see what happens.” Valverde added.

Valverde also added he is adamant Rakitic and Dembele will remain at Camp Nou beyond the end of 2019/20 season.

“Rakitic is a great player who has played a lot here and nothing makes me think he won’t be here. We hope to count on him, there are still three days in the transfer window left.

“At the moment, Dembele is injured. We’ll have to wait and see. I’m not going to comment on anything on him.” he added.

When asked about his second left-back Juan Miranda, who is expected to leave Barcelona to Schalke, Valverde replied it all depends on the player.

Schalke has completed the signing of Barca second full-back Miranda on a two-year long loan arrangement.

“Last year, we put him in place as our second left-back. He has great qualities and he has to continue his development so he can come back. It all depends on him,” Valverde said.

Barcelona have already signed Frankie De Jong, Junior Fipo, and Antoine Griezmann this summer. Neymar’s potentially return to Catalunya on the other hand, has raised question over Griezmann’s place in Spanish champions’ starting XI.

The LaLiga defending champion will travel to Osasuna on Saturday for their next match.
