SumaiL and YawaR will Play Together on the Quincy Crew

Syed’s name “SumaiL” Sumail Hassan was first known when he won The International together with Evil Geniuses in 2015. At that time, he was still 16 years old. With a total prize of more than US $ 18.4 million, The International 2015 is the esports tournament with the fifth largest prize of all time, according to Esports Earnings. As the first winner, Evil Geniuses received US6.6 million. That means, each player gets US1.32 million. This makes Sumail the youngest player to win US $ 1 million through an esports tournament. In 2016, he was named one of the most influential teenagers in the TIME version.

For five years, Sumail faithfully played in Evil Geniuses. However, after The International 2019, he decided to quit the esports team from the United States. Since then, the fans have wondered what he will do next. Rumors arose that he would play with his brother, Yawar “YawaR” Hassan in the new team. Rumors that Sumail wants to play in the same team with his brother always appear at the beginning of the season since TI5. However, so far, the rumors have never been proven. This time, the rumor that said that Sumail would play with Yawar proved to be true.

Sumail and Yawar will join a new team called Quincy Crew. In the new team, Sumail will play Position 1 Carry, even though he is known as a midlaner. While the midlaner position will be filled by Quinn “CCnC” Callahan. Yawar will play on the offlane. That means, the Hassan brothers will have a different position from the position they have played so far. However, both of them are talented enough to be able to adjust to their new roles. Two other members of the Quincy Crew are Arif “MSS” Anwar and Avery “SVG” Silverman. In March, SVG had said that he resigned as a professional player on the grounds that he wanted to do other things in his life. Now, he returns to the Dota 2 scene.

Jack “KBBQ” Chen will be the manager of the Quincy Crew team. At present, the team does not play under any esports organization. However, through Twitter, KBBQ stated that this situation “will be resolved in the near future”. Possibly, that means, members of the Quincy Crew team will soon sign the contract after they determine the terms and conditions. There are several large esports organizations that still don’t have a Dota 2 team, such as Team Liquid and Alliance. It is still unknown in which region the Quincy Crew team will compete. Considering that all this time its members have been part of the teams that competed in North America, it is likely that they will also compete again in the region.
