It is latest in news today that Johanna Konta has been pulled out from the team for playing Fed Cup which is going to be scheduled this week in Israel. Johanna Konta has been pulled out from her team and is not allowed for playing because of her intense illness. According to Johanna Konta, she said that she is suffering from intestinal issue and this issue has become worse when she was in Melbourne. This is the major reason why the champion has been dragged out from the team and is not played for Fed Cup this week. She said that my doctors have advised me not to play as further playing can make her illness worse and also can exacerbate her intestinal issue. Expressing her thoughts over the illness, Johanna Konta said, “This comes as a big disappointment to me and I regret not being able to play.
“I have represented GB every time I have been asked to and fully intend to play again given the opportunity in the future.” Johanna Konta is very disappointed that this time she is unable to represent her team this time in Fed Cup Israel which is going to happen this week.
Judy Murray said, “While it’s obviously very disappointing, we still have a squad of players capable of winning through the group. I have a couple of days to fill the fourth spot, and that gives two of our most promising teenagers Katie Swan and Freya Christie the chance to join Heather Watson and our doubles specialists Jocelyn Rae and Anna Smith in the team.”
Konta said expressing his health issue that, “After having consulted with two doctors, my coach, physio and the LTA, unfortunately I will have to withdraw from the upcoming Fed Cup in Israel.
‘I have been advised by the doctors that playing there would jeopardize an ongoing intestinal issue that got progressively worse through the Australian Open”.
We wish all the best to the team that the players will play great even in the absence of number one player Johanna Konta. Let’s see what they will do in the upcoming tournament.
