Beijing, which hosts the 2022 Winter Olympics, is preparing to welcome the event. One of them is the Olympic Village. Reports from the Headquarters of the Beijing Main Construction Project indicate that the main structure is almost complete.
The construction includes outer wall curtains, mechanical and electrical, and internal decoration. This important project is expected to be completely completed by the end of 2020. “The village is located in the Olympic sports and business district in the Chaoyang District.” said Deputy Director Chen Jianxiong.
The total construction, said Jianxiong covers 3,300 square meters. In that area, there are 20 residential buildings. Each building has an average of 13 to 17 level.
Chen Jianxiong added that the region provided at least three services. First is accommodation. Second is food. The third is health services for athletes and team officials.
Meanwhile, after the Olympics, the Olympic Village area will be rented out to the public. Furthermore, Chen Jianxiong’s records show that the Olympic Village was built environmentally friendly. “We use energy properly,” he said.
Located about two kilometers from the Beijing National Stadium, the area is equipped with a convenient transportation system. In the Olympic Village there are also sports competition locations including the National Aquatic Center, the National Covered Stadium, the Ice Ski Stadium, and the open ski location.
Moreover, the organizing committee began to look for volunteers for the grand multicab event this winter. Activities to find volunteers will begin on December 5, 2019.
Data shows, the 2022 Winter Olympics requires at least 27,000 volunteers. Meanwhile, for the Winter Paralympic activity, there is a need for 12,000 volunteers. Later, volunteers for Paralympics will be selected and taken from Olympic volunteers.
According to the plan, an online recruitment system will be applied to this selection. Invitations for selection were also prepared for this Olympic and Paralympic event. According to the plan, the volunteers will be from the university and local high school students.
In addition, Chinese authorities set up four weather projects as one of the preparation for 2022 Winter Olympics. The weather project, said Deputy Director of the Meteorological Observatory Zhangjiakou, Guo Hong, became an important part.
Because the implementation of the winter Olympics depends on weather conditions. Guo Hong’s analysis further mentioned that the four projects include comprehensive observations about weather conditions, weather prediction, weather observation services, and pilot projects and analysis of artificial weather impacts.
So far, there are 29 weather monitoring posts built at match locations in Zhangjiakou. “This monitoring post is preparing the latest data for the Olympic event,” Guo Hong said. Up to now, there have been 36 technical locations for weather observations in the competition locations from all over China. The personnel are trained to familiarize themselves with the local weather. They are also tasked with making weather analyzes.
It seems that China really work hard to ensure the event goes successful!
