High interest shown by Inter Milan and Juventus towards Emerson Palmieri made Chelsea start to set high price for the player.
Emerson Palmieri has been the target of two Italian League clubs, namely Inter Milan and Juventus. Inter Milan need versatile players who can help attack and defend just as well on the wing back position.
The choice fell on the figure of Emerson Palmieri who was considered suitable in the 3-5-2 scheme used by Antonio Conte. Antonio Conte has worked with Emerson before during his tenure in Chelsea in few seasons ago. Il Nerazzurri wants Antonio Conte’s former foster children while at Chelsea to be brought to Giuseppe Meazza in January 2020.
Meanwhile, Juventus are also aiming for Emerson as their transfer target in the transfer market next winter. The Italian-born Italian passport-left back has been identified as a potential new left-back from Juventus following a lack of stock in the sector.
Il Bianconeri currently only have Alex Sandro for the mainstay left wing back position. Realizing the high interest of the two clubs, Chelsea began to make a move by setting high price tag for Emerson.
Reported from Corriere della Sera, Chelsea have determined the price for Palmieri for clubs interested in his services. The Blues have priced the 25-year-old player worth 30 million euros, a higher value than when he was transported from AS Roma in January 2018 and worth 23 million euros. This price is considered high for a player in a wing back position. Emerson is considered youth and promising players. The current Emerson contract expires in the year of 2022.
He has played for Chelsea under the command of Frank Lampard for 11 matches in all competitive events in the 2019-2020 season.
Inter and Juventus believe that Emerson can prove to be an important additional force in the upcoming January transfer. That’s because the two clubs are competing for the sake of winning the Italian League title this season. As what we can see, Emerson is performing pretty well both under Conte, Sarri and Lampard’s leadership and management.
It will be interesting to see how the transfer will go and whether Chelsea will let go the promising player. If Chelsea decided to let go Emerson, then Frank Lampard has big homework to find replacement at left wing back position.
