Ferrari Formula 1 team announced signing their young driver Charles Leclerc beyond 2022.
The contract has been extended till 2024 which clearly depicts the Ferrari’s priority over half of the next decade.
Leclerc joined Ferrari soon after performing at Sauber F1 team during 2019 session. He made the news as he hits the track. His performance caught eyes of the many and became talk of the town.
Ferrari exchanged Kimi Raikkonen with Leclerc, who moved to Suaber as his replacement.
The Monegasque did not fail to impress during his maiden season with Ferrari. He broke Mercedes dominance and secured Ferrari’s first victory of the year at Belgian Grand Prix.
Leclerc dominated Bahrain Grand Prix and would have won during his second race if engine issue had not struck his fate.
Leclerc beautifully defended his position against Lewis Hamilton at Italian Grand Prix. It helped him secured the most awaited victory for Ferrari at their home ground.
The victories he aced during 2019 helped him out marked his team mate Sebastian Vettel and stood fourth on the standings. He also managed to mark most pole positions, i.e. seven, for the season.

“This past season, driving for the most illustrious team in Fromula 1 has been a dream year for me.
“I cannot wait to enjoy an even deeper relationship with team after what has been an intense and exciting 2019.
“I am keen to see what the future holds and I can’t wait to get going again next season.”
Mattia Binotto, Ferrari team principal, added: “With each passing race this year, out wish to extend our contract with Charles became ever more self-evident and the decision means he will now be with us for the next five seasons.
“It demonstrates that Chrles and the Scuderia have a firm future together.
“Charles has been part of our family since 2016 and we are more than proud of the results we are achieving with our Academy.
“We are therefore very pleased to be able to announce that he will be with us for many years to come and I’m sure that together, we will write many new pages in the history of Prancing Horse.”
Leclerc asserted himself on track which led to this partnership which is the longest Ferrari has ever given to any driver.
