Fabio Quartararo wins the 2020 Andalusia MotoGP at the Jerez Circuit by beating Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi on Sunday (7/26).
Quartararo, Vinales, and Rossi took the first corner. Vinales then made a mistake on the last corner of the first lap and made Rossi poke into second position.
Quartararo began to move away after the third lap with a 1.4-second advantage over Rossi. Vinales looks to have better speed, but fails to miss The Doctor.
Entering the sixth lap Quartararo is at a separate level and up to 2.8 seconds. Yamaha manufacturer duo looks difficult to match the speed of the 21-year racer.
Lap after lap passed Quartararo by adding excellence in front. Entering lap nine racer nicknamed El Diablo was 3.8 seconds ahead of Rossi.
Vinales increasingly difficult on lap nine. The Spaniard was overtaken by Jack Miller, but returned to third position. While Rossi began to open the distance with Vinales up to 0.6 seconds.
Vinales really lost his third position on lap ten after being overtaken by Pecco Bagnaia at bend eight. On lap 11, Vinales was then overtaken by Miller and Franco Morbidelli to occupy sixth place.
Rossi then lost position two after overtaking Bagnaia on lap 12. Rossi began to trouble on this lap. Besides being pressured by Bagnaia, Rossi was also pressured by his other students at VR46 Academy who strengthened Petronas Yamaha’s Franco Morbidelli.
Luckily for Rossi, the M1 motorbike riding a Morbidelli encountered a problem on lap 17 and failed to continue the race. The same problem was experienced by Rossi in MotoGP Spain 2020 last weekend.
Bagnaia then also suffered a motorcycle breakdown at Desmosedici on lap 20. Conditions that make Rossi rose to second and third Vinales.
Leaving three laps Quartararo has a superior 7.5 seconds over Rossi. Tight competition between Rossi and Vinales in the last two laps.
Quartararo then sealed the victory in the Andalusian MotoGP with an advantage over Vinales and Rossi.
