English Premier League Results: Leicester Beat Man City, Vardy Hattrick

Leicester City played superbly when destroying Manchester City 5-2 in the third week of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (27/9). In this match, Jamie Vardy scored a hat trick.

Man City appeared to be pressing since the referee blew the whistle to mark the start of the first half. The pressure paid off that made Man City 1-0 up when the game had only been running for four minutes.

Man City’s opening goal was scored by winger Riyad Mahrez. He broke into Leicester’s goal after using the ball vomited in the penalty box for the visitors.

Winning 1-0 does not necessarily make Man City relax the pressure. The Citizens got many opportunities but poor finishing made the hosts fail to add goals.

This situation can be used by Leicester, who play on the counterattack. Brendan Rodgers’ squad won a penalty after Kyle Walker fouled Jamie Vardy in the penalty box.

Vardy who served as executor did a good job. The score changed to 1-1 in the 37th minute.

In the second half, Leicester turned 2-1 ahead in the 53rd minute. Vardy’s back heel from close range to greet Dennis Praet’s bait managed to break into Ederson’s goal.

Leicester returned to spreading threats a few minutes later. This time Harvey Barnes fired a shot from outside the penalty box which Ederson could still push away.

Man City were in even more trouble in the 58th minute. This was after Eric Garcia violated Jamie Vardy in the penalty box.

Vardy, who ran as executor, managed to do a good job. He thrilled Ederson’s goal to score his third goal in this match.

Man City suffered more and more in the 76th minute. James Maddison’s curling shot from outside the penalty box was unable to be dammed by Ederson and changed the score to 4-1.

In the 84th minute, Man City was able to reduce the gap to 2-4. The hosts’ goal came through Nathan Ake’s header from Mahrez’s corner.

Four minutes later, the Man City defender made another mistake which resulted in a penalty for Leicester. A mistake was made by Benjamin Mendy for breaking Maddison.

Without Vardy already withdrawn, Youri Tielemans stepped forward as the penalty taker. The Belgian midfielder fired into the left corner of the net which outwitted Ederson and made the score 5-2 last until the game was over.
