English Premier League Results: Liverpool Failed To Win Against Brighton

Liverpool failed to win and had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Brighton in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium on Saturday (28/11).

Brighton and Liverpool each managed to score a goal in the first half but ran aground because the referee disallowed.

Brighton actually has a golden opportunity to score an advantage through the white point in the 21st minute. However, Neal Maupay’s shot deviated slightly on the right side of the goal even though Alisson had taken a wrong step.

Liverpool also managed to break the deadlock in the 34th minute through Mohamed Salah using Roberto Firmino’s cross.

However, the goal was disallowed after a VAR check showed Salah was offside. Score goalless draw ends until the break of the match.

Entering the second half, Liverpool tried to make more aggressive attacks into the Brighton defense. As a result, the Reds successfully broke the deadlock in the 60th minute.

Diogo Jota is again the hero of Liverpool. The Portuguese attacker managed to break into Mat Ryan’s goal after using Mohamed Salah’s assist.

Brighton is actually able to provide significant resistance to Liverpool. However, a poor finish from Danny Welbeck et al made the opportunity wasted.

However, the hosts managed to equalize in injury time through Pascal Gross’s penalty execution. The referee pointed to the spot after confirming VAR for the violation committed by Andy Robertson to Welbeck.

Liverpool also had to settle for going home with one point after the referee blew the long whistle to mark the end of the match.

Coach Jurgen Klopp was upset after Liverpool were held draw by Brighton and Hove Albion

Klopp’s frustration was poured out during an interview with BT Sport after the match. BT Sport is one of the holders of the Premier League broadcast rights this season.

In this match, the defending champion not only lost three points, but James Milner will also be left behind, who suffered a hamstring injury.

“Yes, Milner has a muscle injury, congratulations to BT Sport,” Klopp was quoted as saying by AS.

Klopp was disappointed because his team, which was in a player crisis due to injury before the Brighton, had to compete in the first schedule this week, Saturday afternoon local time.

“I don’t know how many times I have to say it, you have to choose the time at 13.30. And there will be one more time before the end of the year. These are difficult times,” said Klopp.

On that occasion Klopp also discussed the question of wanting to replace five players this season. However, so far these efforts have not paid off. One of them is the debate in the Premier League coach meeting.

“When we had a meeting with the coaches last week, I thought 15 to 5 or 16-4 was betting on five substitutions. Nothing has happened since then,” said the German.

Klopp hopes that the replacement of five players can be implemented. The main reason is to protect the players from injury.

“If we had five substitutions today, I would replace [Andy] Robertson with Tsimikas, to protect Robertson, not improve our game. Just protect him,” said Klopp.

“It’s not a matter of tactics, systems and so on. It protects the players. Seven coaches in this league have the same problem, play for a week, and we all come down there,” added Klopp.
