English Premier League results: Everton beat Chelsea 1-0

Everton successfully beat Chelsea 1-0 in Week 12 of the Premier League, Sunday (13/12). The single goal in the victory was scored by Gylfi Sigurdsson with a penalty.

Playing at Goodison Park Stadium, the two teams have attacked each other from the first minute.

Chelsea created opportunities first through Kai Havertz, which Richarlison replied. But both failed to take advantage of these opportunities.

Everton got a penalty after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought down by Eduardo Mendy in the 21st minute. Sigurdsson who advanced to be the executioner successfully netted the ball.

Behind one goal, Chelsea tried to reply. However, Reece James’ free kick in the 25th minute was denied by Jordan Pickford.

Timo Werner has a chance to score in the 36th minute. However, the German player’s shot was still high.

Richarlison had the opportunity to double the position in the 40th minute. But the ball shot was still able to be saved by the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Until the first half ended, Chelsea never scored a goal. Position 1-0 for Everton remained until the break.

In the second half, buying and selling attacks occurred again. Chelsea took the initiative to attack first. Mason Mount’s shot ball in the 47th minute turned out to still fly over the bar.

Everton did not remain silent and replaced threatening in the 51st minute. Richarlison shoots the ball from inside the penalty box, but Edouard Mendy again saves the net from being conceded.

Gylfi Sigurdsson again had a chance to score in the 54th minute. However, the midfielder’s free kick was not able to tear the Chelsea goal.

Likewise, Kai Havertz’s opportunity in the penalty box did not meet the target.

The Toffess did not remain silent. Carlo Anceloti’s troops are trying to find additional goals. For example, Yerry Mina’s header in response to a corner also deviates from the goal.

Both teams are constantly trying to find opportunities. Chelsea, who in the last minute came out to attack, failed to get a goal to equalize.

Meanwhile, Everton chose to play it safe at the end of the match. Until the long whistle, Everton’s 1-0 victory didn’t change.

These results make Everton occupy the 10th position in the Premier League standings with 20 points. While Chelsea is in third place with 22 points.
