Allegri Eyes Premier League

Massimiliano Allegri has issued a come-and-get-me plea to the Premier League elite, by declaring “I would like to experience the Premier League.”

The Italian, who guided Juventus to five consecutive Serie A titles, has been without a club since leaving the Turin club at the end of the 2018/19 season.

“In Italy, I was in Milan four years. Five years in Juventus. Now I expect (to work again) in Italy, but it is difficult, or in England.” Allegri said.

“English football is improving now because there are a lot of foreign trainers. England now is more sophisticated, and more tactical, but is also respecting the tradition of English football. It’s a good balance of the spirit of English football and the new quality and new tactical approach of the new coaches.” Allegri added.

The former AC Milan and Juventus manager has been heavily-linked with a move to Arsenal, while Manchester United have also been mooted as potential destinations.

Paris Saint-Germain have also shown interest in taking him to France, but Allegri has now made clear where his next port of call will be.

Allegri said Liverpool and Bayern Munich are the two best teams in Europe right now, and he is a huge admirer of manager Juergen Klopp’s work at the Merseyside club.

“Klopp is doing such great work because Liverpool has the right balance. Every year they improve the team. Liverpool have players who are very fast, technical, are physically stronger, and they have character.” Allegri said.

The 53-year-old man has done a decent job winning 5 Scudetti since his appointment in 2014 after Antonio Conte parted ways with the Bianconerri.

He is a good coach with a simple playing philosophy that has worked out for the Italian club taking 11 trophies in all ( 5 scudetti, 4 copa Italia and 2 Super Copa Italia).
