Rafael Nadal harderst thing in the winning of French Open 2011 and 2020

Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal a player who has won 20 Grand Slam titles is probably one of the tennis players with the best statistics.

The 34-year-old has won the French Open 13 out of 16 attempts. Other players still have to dream of even winning a Grand Slam title, while the Spanish tennis star has won a Grand Slam 13 times.

Of the 20 prestigious titles he has won, 65% have been won on his favorite field, clay-court. For seasons, he dominated the tournament which was held on the red field. Although the results are the same, the view of the French Open victory in the 2011 and 2020 seasons is quite different from the victories of other world number 2.

Looking back on the victories at Roland Garros in the 2011 and 2020 seasons, Nadal explained. “The 2011 season was very difficult after coming out of another difficult season. Then I can say that one win with the most difficult conditions was in the 2020 season. Before I played in that tournament, I only played one tournament on clay.”

“Conditions in Paris are not positive, things are going well. But playing in cold conditions is difficult for my body, then for my style of play. Playing in such cold conditions made my shots ineffective.”

Despite all the odds, the champion at Roland Garros in the last four seasons has finally won the Grand Slam which was hold on the red field. He beat the world number 1 Novak Djokovic at the top of the French Open in straight sets.

The world number 2 also pondered why he had been so brutal when he competed at Roland Garros.

“At Roland Garros, I played well because the pitch is very wide where I can control every corner very well, but to control every corner well you have to have a ball that responds well to the racket. “The 2020 season has changed the ball and the cold conditions have made it less influential to the opponent,” said Nadal.

After the French Open, Rafael Nadal won his 1000th match in the ATP tournament during his time at the Paris Masters. He is schedule to return to action at the 2021 Australian Open which kicks off in February.
