Solskjaer Warns His Squad to Stay Humble If They Want to Catch Up on the Title Race

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has warned his squad to stay humble if they want to catch up on the title race for the 2020/21 season.

The Red Devils are placed second in the table before travel to Burnley on Tuesday night, that comes after a serie of very positive results on the pitch, and remarkable progress made by the players.

“We need to get points against Burnley before anyone can say that you’re top of the table. But that’s the position we’ve put ourselves in.That’s what matters. You accumulate the points throughout the season.” Solskjaer said.

“So if at one point you think, ‘We’ve made it now, we’ve cracked it’ and you relax, that’s when it’s going to hit you back. So we’re very focused.

“We have some good characters in the team, the dressing room is louder, it’s more vocal, with experience. We have more players who can grab the situation.” Solskjaer added.

After Sir Alex Ferguson retired, United experienced a very huge dip in the performances on the pitch which is even continuing now.

However, Solskjaer’s side have a great opportunity to climb to the top of the table for the very first time since former manager Jose Mourinho left the Old Trafford.

“I feel the group’s mentality is getting better, so that’s the big thing for me. Sometimes results don’t go as expected, but I’m very happy with where we are mentally at the moment.” Solskjaer said.

“There’s nothing worse than having your manager or coaches always telling you what to do, this, that and the other.” he added.
